Paul is an experienced solicitor who was admitted to practice in 1987. Paul commenced his career in Brisbane and thereafter in Toowoomba practising primarily in the areas of personal injuries law, family law and criminal law. However, since establishing the firm Sheehan & Co in Chinchilla, Paul has primarily focused his attention meeting the needs of the firm's commercial clients, including advising in relation to the sale and purchase of commercial and rural property primarily within South East and South West regions of Queensland, business structures (establishment of partnerships and trusts and incorporation of companies) and leasing. Over the years, Paul has also developed substantial experience in the making of wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney for the broad spectrum of clients which the firm serves.
Paul has a passion for protecting the environment and upholding landholder's rights. Paul has extensive experience representing his client's interests in their compensation negotiations with coal seam gas companies.
He has a real concern that CSG operators' activities are likely to cause irreparable long-term damage to landholders' valuable land, water and air resources and threaten their farming and grazing businesses as a result. In addressing these real issues, Paul has accumulated a great volume of knowledge and insight into issues which may impact upon landholders' interests and their risk management strategies. Paul is always anxious to ensure that landholders' practical concerns are properly addressed in any compensation agreement reached with the CSG operators. Paul also provides appropriate advice for amendment of the operative provisions of the agreements to protect landholders' interests.
Outside of the office, Paul is the long serving President of the local Brigalow Cricket Club. He was awarded life membership of the Club a number of years ago. Despite the fact that due to injury Paul is now unable to play cricket, Paul still has an active interest in the Club's affairs.
Paul can be contacted on (07) 4662 8066 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
